DEA Compliance → Disposal (DEA Form 41)
Purpose
Record the disposal of controlled substances in CS Logbook — including the disposal date, method, quantities, and witness — so you keep an internal record of what was destroyed and how. The official DEA Form 41 and the rules for how disposal must happen are handled by the DEA; CS Logbook keeps your record of it.

In CS Logbook
Disposals are created from the inventory workflow and rolled up on a read-only compliance view:
- A disposal records the date, method, item count, and witness, and tracks its status (e.g., pending / completed / reported) alongside whether the official Form 41 has been submitted.
- CS Logbook enforces a witness record for waste/disposal at the database level — this is one of the few hard requirements, because a disposal without a witness is an irrecoverable audit-trail gap.

CS Logbook does not submit Form 41 to the DEA. It records that a disposal happened so you can reconcile your inventory and produce documentation; the actual destruction and any required filing follow the DEA's process.
